A/Prof Sagun Parakh is a medical oncologist specialising in lung cancer and primary brain tumours, with a joint appointment at the Olivia Newton-John Cancer Research Institute (ONJCRI) as a clinician–scientist. He is the head of the Lung Oncology Clinic at Austin Health and a principal investigator for multiple clinical trials, including early-phase studies and novel therapeutic approaches in lung and brain cancers.

A/Prof Parakh obtained his Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in 2014 and completed his PhD at La Trobe University, where he developed a first-in-class anti-ErbB2 antibody targeting conformational epitopes. His research has led to a patent submission and has been recognised by both ONJCRI and La Trobe University.

As a lead investigator on the TRACKER Biobank, A/Prof Parakh plays a key role in efforts to understand and overcome both treatment resistance and immunotherapy-related side effects in lung cancer. He remains committed to translational research, identifying and developing new treatments, designing clinical trial concepts, and advancing precision medicine for cancer patients.
