Centre for Research Excellence in Brain Cancer
The Centre for Research Excellence (CRE) in Brain Cancer at ONJCRI is a collaborative, multidisciplinary initiative established through $2 million in funding from the Victorian Cancer Agency. Co-led by Prof Andrew Scott AM and Prof Hui Gan, the Centre is dedicated to transforming the diagnosis and treatment of brain cancers through innovation, collaboration, and translation into clinical practice.

Next-Generation Imaging Probes
Creating advanced imaging tools to enhance diagnosis, guide treatment selection, and enable more accurate monitoring of brain cancer progression and response.
Innovative Molecular Assays
Designing new tests to better characterise brain cancers at the molecular level, empowering clinicians to make more informed, individualised treatment decisions.
Novel Therapeutics
Developing and testing new drugs and treatment strategies that aim to improve survival and quality of life for people with brain cancer.

These partnerships support access to leading expertise and state-of-the-art platforms in genomics, immunology, molecular imaging, brain cancer models, and therapeutics development.
