We are seeking quality candidates for the critical role of Chief Operating Officer (COO) at the Olivia Newton-John Cancer Research Institute (ONJCRI), in Melbourne’s beautiful North-East.

You, and your team, will play an important role ensuring that, wherever possible, the Institute is contributing towards the development and/or discovery of more effective and more accessible therapeutics, without further diminishing quality of life for cancer patients.

 

The Role

As the Chief Operating Officer, you’ll be the driving force behind our Institute’s operations. Reporting directly to the CEO, your leadership will be pivotal in streamlining processes, optimising resources, and fostering collaboration amongst our talented teams. You’ll be the orchestrator of our mission, ensuring that our Researchers and Clinicians have the tools, resources, and support they need to accelerate discoveries. With your strategic vision, you’ll guide us toward new horizons and expand our impact, for the benefit of those we serve.

  • Proven track record of leadership in a scientific, medical, and/or research-focused organisation.
  • Exceptional ability to transform vision into actionable strategies and tangible results.
  • Strong business acumen and skill in managing budgets, resources, and partnerships.

  • Spearhead operational strategies to enhance research efficiency and impact.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to foster innovation and support breakthroughs.
  • Implement visionary initiatives to secure funding and drive philanthropic efforts.
  • Nurture a culture of excellence, inclusivity, and continuous growth and improvement.
  • Establish partnerships with industry leaders, academia, governing bodies, and healthcare organisations.
  • Drive the Institute’s mission, in collaboration with the CEO, and as a member of the Executive Committee
