About the position

The Grants Manager will lead all aspects of the grant management process throughout the lifecycle (from pre to post award), collaborating with researchers in the preparation of high-quality written applications for grants and fellowships. Through your passion and understanding of the medical research sector or academia, you will be responsible for developing the strategy which will support our researchers in identifying and applying for grants aligned to the Institute’s strategic objectives and in support of the Institute’s growth agenda.

About you

Applicants should be tertiary qualified in biological or medical sciences, preferably with a higher degree qualification and combined with relevant experience working in the medical research or university sector in a grants administration/management role. You will have extensive knowledge of the research sector and apply a ‘strategic lens’ on how you approach philanthropic and Australian competitive granting schemes to grow the research capacity of the Institute.

You will possess exceptional writing and editing skills, enabling you to present complex scientific content in a clear and concise manner. Also essential are demonstrated research facilitation skills, and a proven ability to form close working relationships with key stakeholders and implement effective engagement strategies to raise awareness and support the development and understanding of external funding and partnership considerations.
