Researchers from across Australia and around the world gathered this week for CRISPR Down Under 2026, the third iteration of Australia’s premier CRISPR conference.
Held over two days at Melbourne Connect, the Olivia Newton-John Cancer Research Institute (ONJCRI) was proud to support this event, which showcased the latest advances in CRISPR gene editing technologies and their applications in health and disease.
The conference featured a diverse program including advances in our understanding of CRISPR biology, and new therapeutic uses for these technologies.
A panel of experts in the field explored the ethics of gene editing and the real-world translation of gene editing technologies.
Many of ONJCRI’s CRISPR researchers attended, taking the opportunity to engage with cutting-edge research, connect with leading investigators from around the world, and exchange ideas with peers across the Australian CRISPR community.
From fundamental discoveries to translational applications, CRISPR Down Under 2026 reinforced the growing momentum of gene editing technologies in advancing biomedical research, and the strength of the collaborative network driving it forward.
