Uncovering the Secrets of Immune Cells
At the heart of the Immunosurveillance Laboratory’s work is the mission to understand how immune cells interact with cancer — and how those interactions can be harnessed to destroy cancer cells. The lab has already made significant discoveries about the molecular pathways that regulate T cells, NK cells, and particularly γδ T cells, shedding light on their crucial roles in maintaining immune balance.
Bringing deep expertise in advanced microscopy and structural biology, the lab offers a unique ability to study immune cell behaviour at an unprecedented level of detail. Now, at ONJCRI, Dr Gully’s team will apply this knowledge to explore how these cells respond to cancer and how their natural abilities can be enhanced to create more effective therapies.
